Calling all Fresnonians who love to check out local thrift stores and search for antique treasures! Urban Salvage is an exciting mix of hand-collected items, and is located in the downtown Fresno area. The prices are good and the owners are friendly. You can spend hours in the store and warehouse looking through countless fascinating items with many stories to tell (and I know, because I did). Here are just a few photos that I snapped on my trip, and some goodies that I ended up with. I’m sure to be visiting again soon. The Fresno farmer’s market will be relocating itself next door to the shop, so make a day out of it and have some fun!
Urban Salvage is located at: 1515 Broadway St. (559) 905-1836
A view of the front area of the shop.
Old bottles, Mason jars, and glass canisters!!
What a cute vanity or desk chair this would make! Refinish the wood to create rustic charm or paint with a beautiful lacquer and reupholster the seat to give it a modern twist.
Lots of hardware and decorative knobs. There were glass ones there too! All the more reason to make another trip!
What a cute setup!
Really…give yourself at least a couple hours.
Trunks! Trunks! Trunks! Would make a great statement at the foot of a bed or use a larger one for an end table.
Chairs and more chairs.
Who doesn’t need shutters?
A few things I took home: a rustic and weathered window frame, carved wood picture frame with linen inset, white ceramic jug, and an old iron fence post finial.
A pair of antique glass candleholders, a wood box, and a glass vase with branches finish off my newly decorated mantel.
